Over the summer, I was fortunate enough to co-op at Hasbro in Providence, Rhode Island. I worked in the United States Marketing Department as an Integrated Media Intern. My responsibilities were fluid, allowing me to perform numerous tasks throughout the project workflow process, which was extremely rewarding. There, I was able to work on brands that I have known and loved about since my childhood, including Furby, Monopoly, Sesame Street, and Star Wars.
My team and I collaborated in developing timelines for digital advertisements, procuring assets, writing media plans, working with legal, and generating creative mockups to be executed throughout quarter two. To be able to see a project develop and then be executed on platforms such as YouTube and SnapChat was such an amazing experience. I was able to jump right in, and there was very little downtime as I was immersed in all of these roles.
Perhaps the best part of working at Hasbro was the environment. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful. There was a week in which branches from all over the world converged in Providence to learn together about our company. We were able to view sneak peaks of all toys, brands, apps, and films that are going to be released over the next couple of years. It was an incredible experience to view these upcoming plans, and how much forethought is put into every aspect of development in order to ensure an amazing experience for children and adults worldwide.
